+ History
Crystal Frost studied to be a scientist, and constantly felt she was being held back by men. As a student of Hudson University she fell for her teacher Martin Stein.
Frost was working on a thermofrost center in the Arctic, and was pleasantly surprised to be visited by Stein until she found out that he never had feelings for her. She locked herself in the thermofrost center, and was transformed into Killer Frost. (Firestorm v.1 #3) She began a crusade to end male prejudice by killing men. She was repeatedly defeated by the original Firestorm. She once also joined a formation of the Secret Society of Super-Villains. they were defeated by the combined efforst of the JLA and JSA. (JLofA #195-197)
Frost was kept in custody in a freezer unit, and the constant exposure to cold left her near death. She escaped and confided in her colleague Dr. Louise Lincoln that she was dying. Frost went on a rampage that only ended when Firestorm allowed her to absorb his warmth. The energy she absorbed from Firestorm was so intense that it destroyed her.
Dr. Lincoln was a scientist who worked with Crystal Frost, who later became Killer Frost I. When Frost was dying she payed a last visit to her friend before her fatal conflict with Firestorm. Lincoln greatly admired her friend, and believed by using an experimental procedure to duplicate her friend's powers Killer Frost would live again. Lincoln became the new Killer Frost, and clashed repeatedly with Firestorm.
She was recruited by Brainwave as a member of his short-lived Legion of Doom. (Extreme Justice #14-18)
In time, Lincoln has become a highly sought-after killer. She was hand-picked by Amanda Waller to be a core part of the last Suicide Squad. (Suicide Squad v.2)
+ Powers
Both Killer Frosts function like electrical freezers: they need constant replenishments of warmth or external energy to survive, and to generate their cold powers. They can drain the warmth from a living being with a touch. Ironically, exposure to additional cold can siphon theirr powers away.
They use the cold they generate to create and project ice. Sometimes, it is possible for her to manipulate the air, allowing herself to float.
